Easter Weekend

Every year we go to Belleville on Easter weekend.  The weather wasn't supposed to be great, but it turned out pretty nice on Saturday afternoon.

Fun at the Zoo

A few weeks ago we went to the Peterborough zoo with our friends.  The boys had a wonderful time, and the weather was great!

 The pretend camel was almost as interesting as the real ones!

Everyone's favourite part, though, was the otters. We saw them swim right past us against the glass inside. We were also there for feeding time, so they really performed for us!

It's a great zoo with some nice playgrounds, and best of all, it was free!  In the summer, there's a great splash pad and train ride too.  I'm  sure we'll be going again sometime!

Sayings...

We have noticed lately that Liam has been very observant and insightful.  He's following our conversations and trying to join in.  We were talking after supper about how even though we might do some bad things, Jesus loves us no matter what.  He looked at us and said, "Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so!!!"  He was so proud of himself, so of course we had to sing the song!   Faith like a child...!

Liam also likes the Veggie Tales theme song, where part of it says, "Cauliflower, sweet and sour, half an hour, Veggie Tales."  When we were having supper tonight, he asked for "more sweet and sour half an hour, please mommy?" - cauliflower!

We were at the Peterborough zoo last week and had a great time.  We were looking at a display where the sign said bobcat.   Eric showed Evan up in the tree on a platform, where we could see part of the bobcat.  Evan said, "That's not a Bobcat.  I don't see any wheels!"

The Tractor Place

Every year the tractor place near our house has a great big open house.  They have a tractor pull, displays, the local radio station comes, they have kids activities, and they serve a great lunch! This year it was a catered  beef on a bun lunch...pretty impressive (for free!)

The weather was perfect this year, and there were lots of people there.

The local fire department was there, teaching fire safety for the kids.

Four Years Old!

Our little Darren turned four years old this weekend! 

Happy Birthday,  Darren!

We love your infectious laughter, your mischievous smile, and your caring spirit.  You are such a special child of God, and we can't wait to see how God is going to work through you!

 Darren got a Tonka helicopter, a Waldo book, and some cool markers & paper.

He had a party with 3 other boys over.  They had a great time playing outside, making Dinosaur eggs, and eating "Larry" cake.

Not quite the same spot as his brothers, but little Isaac got stuck as he was rolling around (and not too happy that I took a picture of it!)

When baby Hendrik came for a visit, Darren Hendrik spent some time hanging out with him!
