Family Time

We spent some time with the whole Renkema family. The two youngest had fun together.

The weather was a bit cool, but nice, so we spent the afternoon at the beach. The boys had a great time - they even went into the water (the adults weren't so brave!)

Surprise For Mom/Grandma

So we (the VanBreda siblings) decided it would be nice to take mom to see the Sound of Music in Toronto. We told her to come to Orono in the morning, but she didn't know what she was doing, or who she was doing it with. She and I took the train to Toronto, had lunch, wandered for a bit, and ran into Jenn and Steve. Mom was quite surprised, but still didn't know what the plan was. Eventually, when we found ourselves sitting on a bench across the road from the Princess of Wales theatre, she guessed that we were going to see The Sound of Music. It was an amazing show, and a great day! Somehow, Jenn and I ended up dressed alike...not planned!

The boys are doing well (Darren did not want to join in the picture!). Liam had a small surgery for a hernia repair on Tuesday, and is recovering well from it. The boys enjoyed their day with Grandma while we were at the hospital in Toronto. Grandma came over on Monday and made jam with us. Evan was a big help (he really was!) even though he got most of it on his clothes/face.

Happy Birthday Canada!

Eric has had a few days off of work. We went to Cobourg beach on Canada Day, and the boys loved the waves and water (and of course the sand!)

Uncle Gerald and Aunt Leida came for a visit today and brought the boys the lovely hooded towels shown in this month's picture...very cute!

Happy 60th Birthday, Grandpa!

We spent the weekend in Belleville with Steve & Sarah and kids, Jenn & Brian and dog, as well as my Aunt & Uncle from Alberta and my Aunt and Uncle from Ottawa.

We had a great visit, and enjoyed a DVD that Jenn and Brian put together for Grandpa.
We spent most of the time outside at the nursing home, when it wasn't raining.
Every year, as far back as we can remember, we've had strawberries for Dad's birthday.

The Swing Set!

It was completed on Saturday and the boys have been enjoying it ever since! They especially love the glider and the "Super Fast" slide!

Liam is as content as always, and loves watching his brothers. He rolled over this Wednesday for the first time! Yay!
