A Tough Day at Work

As many of you know, my job with Christian Horizons requires that I take the handicapped individuals on community outings. On August 22nd, three individuals and three staff went to a Blue Jays game at the SkyDome. I know that that is not the stadium's name anymore. It is the name that means the most to most Blue Jays' fans though.

This was the view from our seats. They weren't ordinary stadium seats. No. We had metal folding chairs. Their wheelchair seating area was along a metal railing (not very securely in place, I might add) with no permanent seats. So, those who weren't in wheelchairs, got the aformentioned metal folding chairs.

The Blue Jays lost to the Oakland Athletics 4-1. A.J. Burnett (the $55 million boo-boo?) was on the hill for the good guys and was tagged with the loss even though his team committed three errors.

This is an"action" shot of Alex Rios. It reminds me of the time I used to play baseball when the outfielders got bored.
Even though the Blue Jays lost, everybody had a good time and hey, I got paid to go.
