Day 6
Isaac remains off of the ventilator. He had been struggling overnight and working hard to breathe today, but every time they checked his blood gasses, they were good. So he remains on C-PAP, and was resting very peacefully as of a few minutes ago. He is sleeping on his tummy - that makes it easier for him to breathe and open up his lungs, and he looks more cozy. He is done with the UV lights - his bilirubin levels are good. The nurse could still hear his murmur as of last night, but she could hear it less this evening. Hopefully that means that it is closing up. We'll have a better idea tomorrow. All in all, a good day. I was discharged today after a somewhat prolonged stay due to an epidural headache. While I wouldn't wish that on anyone, it was a blessing because I got to stay close to Isaac for a few extra days.

These "baby steps" are great news! I hope and pray they continue! We'll keep praying for little Isaac, that the medication for the heart valve may be successful.
I am so impressed with your positive frame of mind! I pray that God will continue to hold you, Isaac, and the rest of your family in his hands.
Hi Marya and Eric,
Congratulations on the birth of Isaac!!! I was surprised to hear about his birth when I took a look at your blog. We will also lift your family up in prayer...for Isaac's continued health, for a speedy recovery for you Marya, and for the boys who I am sure miss their wife and mom. Take care, Janine (and family)
It was lovely to see Isaac yesterday and he did look omre comfortable on his belly! He has beautiful soft hair on his back that you can now see and maybe strawberry blonde hair on his head?!
Thanks for the updates - I am happy for him and you guys that he is doing so well. What a blessing.
Is all going well in your "new" home?
