Isaac's Baptism

Isaac was baptized on Sunday in a wonderful service at our church. We were surrounded by family and friends and a congregation who has held us up in prayer. Isaac behaved wonderfully with Grandma, and the older boys did a great job standing at the front! We had a nice afternoon afterwards, and the weather was great! Here are the VanBredas:

And the Renkemas (there was a picture later with all the Renkemas, but my camera battery died)

I just got this new bassinet for Isaac last week - I ordered it online after I heard great reviews about it. Up until this time, Isaac was sleeping most of the night in our bed, mostly on me...very tiring. And I would put him down sound asleep, only to have him wake up 10 or 20 minutes later - even during the day. But with this bassinet, he sleeps for up to 5 hours at a time (last night he was only up once) and stays asleep when I put him down! I love this product!! I'll do a commercial for Fisher Price if the need me. It has an inclined position so the head is raised, and he doesn't spit up. He also stays in a semi curled up position, but it supports his neck so there is no breathing issues, and it is certified for sleeping in (unlike carseats, swings, & bouncy chairs).

Liam wanted a chance to hold his youngest brother too...it didn't last long, but look at that smile!

It has been quiet this week as the 3 older boys have been visiting Oma & Opa. I've been able to take naps, run errands, clean the house! All those things you can do with only one child!

Great family picture, Marya! I'm glad that Isaac is enjoying his new bed. I think you might be setting him up for sleeping in a Lazy Boy! :-)

Is the bassinet suspended? like a baby swing? or like your other bassinet - on legs? It sure does look cosy!
It reminds me of people who have their babies in baby hammocks. The baby feels like it is being held.

So nice that you found a solution! What a hope that must be for you:)

Liam! What a great smile!

It's kind of like a hammock on an x frame, but it has a supported back. He does still feel like he's being held - kind of curled up rather than flat on his back. That's always the problem when putting the baby down - they're cuddled in your arms, then they lie flat in the bed.
