Little Isaac...

Isaac had been having a bit of a cough for the past week. He had been on a puffer, so we started that again, but the cough & wheezing wasn't going away. I took him to the clinic yesterday, and they sent us to the ER for more testing. They gave him some medication by nebulizer, which requires holding a mask to his face for almost 10 minutes...during which he screamed the entire time. His vitals were all pretty good, but they wanted to help with the congestion, so we had another round of medication. They did swabs checking for RSV and influenza, and the doctor said it is probably one of those. There is no treatment, just monitoring until he gets better. RSV is a virus that isn't usually much in adults, but could end up being pretty serious for preemies, so hopefully he'll get over this quickly. Fortunately he was in pretty good spirits, except for the chest x-ray, poor child. He's sleeping now, and seems to be doing a bit better.
