So I (Marya) was filling our watering cans by the rain barrel when I happened to glance in the window well. I dropped the can and quickly moved away when I saw a skunk. Unfortunately I had left the water running, so I had to sneak back and turn it off. At that point I thought I saw TWO skunks!! When Eric came home, he was much braver than I. We looked from the inside and saw two very cute baby skunks. He took a board and made a ramp for them to climb up, but they just burrowed underneath. I would have just left it, but Eric encouraged one to climb onto the board and flung him out. The other one would not be encouraged, so he left it. After supper, they were both gone, and hopefully neither one nor the mother will come back.

He saw the pictures...and thought they were kittycats!
You can take the boy out of the farm, but you cannot take the farm out of the boy! Buuuutttt, I wouldn't recommend doing this to everyone. I remember we had a skunk spray one of our dogs and the dog came running into the house. The smell brought tears to your eyes and it stays and stays. The dog was throwing up from the smell. Not a fun animal to keep as a kitty. Warn Evan!
Are you standing on the roof when you took those pictures? They seem so far away
I (Eric) was standing on the ground when these pictures were taken. I was just an arm's length away ... exactly an arm's length away as I am leaning over with the camera and clicking pictures. Skunk spray is not good for digital cameras - it says so in the manual. (not really, but i can't imagine it's good)
Do baby skunks spray?
I never want to stick around long enough to find out :>
When I was helping the baby skunks out of the window well, I (Eric) noticed a skunk-like smell in the air. I don't know if it was them or if it was me.
