Day 28

It's been a busy 24 hours for us. Yesterday afternoon Isaac had a large drop in his oxygen saturation level. This often happens with preemies, but Isaac hasn't had breathing issues in a few weeks. He needed some oxygen for a minute or so to get his level back up. This has been happening a few times overnight and throughout the day. The doctors and nurses have various ideas as to why this is happening, ranging from reflux issues, possible infection, or something to do with the PDA valve. They are doing some bloodwork and a chest x-ray to rule out infection, and have put him on a few more monitors. It seems like we are taking a step backwards, but he has taken so many steps forward that this isn't unexpected. Hopefully we will know more in the next day or two. I don't enjoy sitting there watching the monitor and watching every breath, but I know that we have been spoiled so far with how well he has done. Please pray that this is just a minor setback and that he will continue to do as well as he has been doing.

Hey, we hope that this change in progress is just a hiccup for the little guy. It has been encouraging to read of his success, and we hope that you are encouraged by the comments and prayers of your friends and family. From one ICU to another, spot.
